Do I need visa for Iran?

Except these 11 countries Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Ecuador, Georgia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Syria, Turkey, Venezuela and Nicaragua, all foreign travelers need a visa to come to Iran.

How can I get my Iran Visa?

Iran Tourist Visa can be obtained in two ways:

I. Iran Tourist Visa in Advance:

• • Through Iran Embassy/Consulate in your country.

In this so-called traditional method, you should refer to one of Iran embassies or consulates and ask for the visa application form and the requirements. This process will take your time as you have to go to the embassy several times and also needs some paper works to be done properly.

• • Through MFA Website

You can personally apply from MFA website: http://evisa.mfa.ir/en/. However, it can be a frustrating process as there are numerous complaints by the travelers as not only it has a high risk of visa refusal, but it also needs up to 30 days to wait and in some cases after long time of waiting, you will be asked to apply via licensed Iranian travel companies.

• • Through Dream Persia

You just need to fill out our Application Form. We will do care of all the paper working. Then we provide you the Iran Visa Reference Number which is your visa grant notice from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2 working days. You just then need to collect your Iran visa at one of Iran embassies/consulates or even at one of Iran International Airports.

II. Iran Tourist Visa upon Arrival (VOA)

180 countries can get 30-day Visa upon Arrival at one of Iran International Airports. first, you should fill out the application in MFA website at least 2 days before your arrival and have the submission with you at the airport. You should also have at least one night reservation of a hotel/hostel with the contact information or if you are invited by a host, you should have his contact information. As most of the flights will arrive in Iran in the middle of night, be sure that the hotel or your host answer their phone otherwise you can be deported.

Note: The citizens of these countries cannot get their visa on arrival and they must apply for the visa in advance via one of the above methods:

UK, US, Canada, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Colombia, India, Iraq, Jordan, Pakistan and Somali

 Why Iran VOA is not recommended? 

• There is a considerable risk of visa refusal.
• You have to wait in long queues which is a time and energy consuming process. It gets more frustrating specially when you are tired of long flights.

What are the requirements for Iran Online Visa Application From?

• A clear scanned passport with at least 6 months validity
• A clear scanned photo to be attached to your Iran Visa Application Form

 How long is the duration of Iran Tourist Visa?

Iran Tourist visa is usually issued for a maximum stay of 30 days for travelers.

How Far in advance should I apply for my visa?

It would be better to do it 2 weeks ahead of your trip to Iran as you have enough time to collect your visa at the embassy. But if you want to collect it at the airport you need less time for it.

When I pay for Iran Visa Reference Number, does it mean that I will not have to pay anything else for issuing my visa?

When you are filling out the form you will choose where to collect your visa. You can choose either one of Iran embassies/consulates or one of international airports upon your arrival.

What if I am American, British or Canadian passport holder?
